Formed in November 2004, Transient Vortex consists of Samlaleo (of Herb Vendors fame & formerly of Malaysian Grunge band Sean Olsens) & Sugu (founder, former drummer & guitarist of Malaysian Band Alert Champions 1999 My Pet Alien).

Individually, coming from diverse musical backgrounds, Transient Vortex have ultimately encompassed an eclectic blend of noises, melodies & beats from mind wrenching drum & bass to electro-clash, new wave & ambient electronica, pushing sounds more accessible to electronica fans as well as cross breeding with other styles of electronica such as electro-pop meets trip-hop, from the root of rave-oriented sounds accompanied by chaotic jungle beats and serene melodies thus leading listeners to an altered state of consciousness.

Transient Vortex has also embraced the DIY concept with open arms proving that making music is not necessarily only confined to music production in high-tech studios using high-end equipment. All tracks that you are about to listen to were recorded in their own home-studio with minimal, but necessary resources. With help and support (minus the complaints from neighbours) from fellow electronica musicians along the way, Transient Vortex have evolved into a more mature sounding electronica outfit. Transient Vortex will also showcase some of the country’s talented and creative artistes by way of collaboration. As musicians, there’s just so much to learn from each other.

We hope that you enjoy our tracks. The music comes from our hearts and is translated our own way. Our greatest achievement would be if the tracks are far reaching enough to gain your liking. That would in itself be a quest achieved. A lot of energy and time was expended into "Timelines Between Separation". To date, we believe it reflects one of Transient Vortex’s most satisfactory productions.

As for the name Transient Vortex.... it simply reflects a combination and convolution of sounds intelligently assembled and unleashed into a rhythmic chaotic frenzy.. Its our way of expressing emotions and thoughts....those emotions and thoughts which in turn are translated to reach you through the medium of sound.
