Everyone can remember the first album they bought - or the records they'd sooner rather forget. Soundcheck is where we delve deep down into someone's record collection, and learn a little more about the music that inspired the people now in the industry themselves. Where does one begin with Dan F?  Veritable magician in the studio, working with everyone from U.N.K.L.E to Meat Katie to Lee Burridge to The Regurgitator, his artist/producer hat is just one of many classy chapeaus.  Label boss of dance imprint Disuye Records, founding partner of  Supermodified (Asia's premier DJ agency) and yep he also owns and runs Yumla - the legendary HK bar which has become the leading light of the local urban and electronic scene.  So basically we have no idea where to start with Dan F, though since this is AMP and we are music, we thought we'd find out more about his own personal music tastes...

DJ J-Stylz, Sakthy, Ram-Z and Shahrayar are collectively better known as Phatnatrix - A hip hop crew based in Singapore.  Rapping in Malay as, well, that's their mother tongue, Phatnatrix are bringing an original Asian sound to the masses.  We Soundchecked the crew to find out more about their musical tastes...

"Laptop rock" and "fairy synth pop" are just two of the labels that have been used to describe The Analog Girl.  We just think she's really damn good.  With a sound that is at once digital yet warm, electronic yet organic - her sound is not an easy one to place.  Which is a good thing in our books.  Let's find out a little more about her music references as we Soundcheck: The Analog Girl.
