Geliat musik indie tanah air sudah terdengar sampai manca negara. Awal tahun ini saja sudah terdengar rencana beberapa band indie untuk melakukan tur manca negara. Sebutlah Burgerkill yang menjelajahi benua Australia, Mocca yang mengisi Mosaic Festival di Singapura dan juga The Upstairs akan mengadakan konser di Malaysia. Tak ketinggalan juga Everybody Loves Irene yang akan mengadakan tour Singapura & Manila
Untuk Everybody Loves Irene adalah sebuah kehormatan sendiri bisa mewakili Indonesia untuk tampil unjuk diri di depan publik Internasional. Sebelumnya, band yang pernah diangkat profilnya dalam program Channel [V]: AMP Around Asia ini pernah tampil di ajang Baybeats Festival di Singapura tahun 2007. Event ini merupakan gelaran yang menampilkan bakat-bakat menarik dari seputar Asia.
Di tahun 2009 ini, Everybody Loves Irene akan tampil di dua event dan dua negara. Event yang pertama bertajuk "Indie Indeed" yang diselenggarakan oleh Esplanade pada tanggal 27 Februari – 1 Maret 2009. Selain Everybody Loves Irene yang akan tampil disini akan ada 7 band diantaranya adalah Deepset dari Malaysia dan Amateur Takes Control dari Singapura. Everybody Loves Irene akan tampil sebagai band pertama pada tanggal 27 Februari di panggung On The Waterfront Outdoor Theatre.
Event yang kedua di gelar di Manila, Filipina, pada tanggal 4-7 Maret 2009. Event yang diberi nama "A*FEST – The 1st International Indie Music Festival in Manila" ini mengundang band-band se Asia untuk tampil 4 malam di 4 tempat berbeda-beda. Diantara line-up yang akan tampil adalah Free Love dari Malaysia, Q dari Jepang, I Am David Sparkle dari Singapura, Velvet Vendetta dari Hongkong dan juga beberapa indie band dari Filipina sendiri.
Tour di dua negara ini diberi nama "Love Is So Strange – Tour 2009" yang diambil dari salah satu judul lagu album kedua ELI,'‘On Second Thought I Might Wanna Change Some Things'.
"Perjalanan ELI kali ini penuh dengan cinta selain karena beberapa dari personil kami sudah tidak berstatus lajang lagi, kami juga ingin menebarkan cinta buat semua orang, jangan perang terus lah," papar Aulia (keyboardis/synthsizer)

After we do a failed mass suicide a month ago, on 5th November we 're planning to gather around for the first time. People said, "Mass Suicide 2008" is a phenomena. We don't know why we get together again, are we gonna celebrate something while watching Everybody Loves Irene's perform under the lime light? Are we gonna celebrate the story, or the phenomena?
We gather round, not in "The People House" but in BREWWW!, a nice lounge with sofa and hotspot (it's a must). A cafe in Kemang, the hearth of South Jakarta.
Surely, we don't celebrate death, we just want to life forever and do something good.

Bunuh Diri Massal (Mass Suicide) is a phenomenal short story written by Fajar Nugros and Alanda Kariza. The story spread on internet and inspired many people to wrote their own side story of Bunuh Diri Massal. All story published on http://bdm2008.everybodylovesirene.com. Everybody Loves Irene appear as the soundtrack for this short story. They used Flash to embed the sound and the story. What a smart idea and they called it "Short Story Clip" as replacement for Video Clip.
When bassist Dimas Anindityo, drummer Mulyadi Triharsono, guitarist Yudhi Arfani and keyboard player Aulia Naratama began jamming with singer Irene Yohanna almost 10 years ago, they were so impressed with her languid vocals that they agreed to name their band Everybody Loves Irene. But of course, not everybody loves her — in fact, in their native Jakarta nobody beyond a tight circle of alternative-music fans has even heard of her.
The great thing about being a musician in an age of digital communications, though, is that local obscurity is no barrier to international recognition. Indonesians don’t give them a second look, but a buzz about the band — whose sultry, slow-burning trip-hop invites comparisons with Goldfrapp or Portishead — has gently percolated around the region, thanks to a well-tended MySpace presence, Channel V airplay and the fact that Yohanna mostly sings in English.
Their second album, On Second Thought, I Might Wanna Change Some Things, signals an intention to build on this base by being considerably more accessible than the band’s melancholy 2006 debut album, The Very First Thing You Must Learn About Flying Is Gravity. Over 10 slinky tracks, listeners will find evidence of a broadened musical vocabulary and Yohanna’s growing confidence. As a vocalist, this Irene is far more dynamic than the neophyte who hesitantly warbled her way through Gravity. There is plenty to love about her and about the current Indonesian music underground. For sheer style, it has no Asian equivalent.

Memento Mori means Warning or Reminder of Death. It's a song about Kurt Cobain,and other fame artists who were success in their career but didn't enjoy their life and died at a young age
Why does the full version of "Hybrid Moments" unavailable on CD?
We have some problems contacting the owner of the song,Glen Danzig. Misfits records itself has already given permission to us,but even they don’t know how to reach danzig. So we chose not to put it on the album to avoid future problems and as an appreciation for Glen Danzig

The Story Behind.... EVERYBODYLOVESIRENE was born in 1998. It all started with a band named Gotoon, consisting Yudhi Arfani (guitar), Dimas Anindityo (bass), and Mulyadi Triharsono (drum) when they were only in junior high school! All three grew to become friends in the same scene that popped up several britpops gigs, popular in Jakarta at that time. However, the band went without permanent vocalist.
After some time, in 2001 the boys met Irene Yohanna, a girl with remarkable voice. Her voice trully made a break. All the boys loved it. Even more, everybody loves Irene! This in fact is the exact sentence that became the name of the band EVERYBODY LOVES IRENE. She soon became the main icon of this band.
With spare-backing tracks and emotional yet wrenching vocal, EVERYBODYLOVESIRENE play music for times when ecstasy wears off and the tingle becomes a chill. It’s a dance noir for those too world-weary to move.
Their music quality got even more enriched when Aulia Naratama (synthetizer) joined the band. This is the last, perfect and solid format for the band to produce new, great songs like Memento Mori, Gravity Always Win, Try Try Try, The Lullaby Show, and the list goes on.
The Sounds.... EVERYBODYLOVESIRENE ’s music might sound like seen as a really unhappy world. On its creative process, it admits that it is mostly inspired by some talented musicians like Emiliana Torrini, Goldfrapp, Air, Mono, Sneaker Pimps, Portishead, Anjali, Radiohead, Massive Attack, Lovage, Emilie Simon, The Album Leaf, Cocteau Twins, Sigur Ros, The Smiths, Bloc Party, and some other great musicians that cannot be mentioned one by one.
This would make them an eclectic indie-pop band with lot of organic trip-hop influences that touches a view element of multi-layered electronica sounds. It will reveal such dark ambience when these young acts is started to perform their non-standard songwriting. EVERYBODYLOVESIRENE has created lunatic fans among the music lovers, regarding the quantity of presenting themselves in some local events that they have participated.
Among these times, EVERYBODYLOVESIRENE has already released their 1st Album entitled The Very First Thing You Must Learn About Flying is Gravity in February 2007. They also has participated in some local compilation album, including a nation-wide movie original soundtrack.
Another thing that we can say is that if you’re making out at home or pining home alone, EVERYBODYLOVESIRENE is the most appropriate one to leisure.
