In which genre did you sounded like? Can you name it?
People say we're SCREAMO, some people we sounded like METAL and somewhat POST-HARDCORE kind of thing, a bit SOUTHERN ROCK. Whatever. The way we were is not actually responded to what genre we sounded like. They name it, we're not affected and it's not a big deal anyway. It's their choice.
Guys what can you say about the new bands nowadays making their own music and sounds so different like your band.
Well, that's fulfilling and flattering. First and foremost, we're not into "so what they called -- FAME" state of mind, we're just making music of our own and trys to have a connection and interaction as well with the listeners who appreciated the most of our songs that we've made for them. I think it's fair enough.
Any chances of being recognized outside the country?
Yeah that's why we have different accounts and website for them to be able to listen to our music, it's more relieving and touchy when somebody tells our music is different and they liked it. There are many bands out there striving just to be known, so it's a big advantage to have the internet to spread out the words we said.
Which did you prefer, to be in the Underground Scene or the Mainstream?
It's so hard for us to decide. If we want to be recognized more often than the usual thing we do and to be more compensated someday but the thing is, it doesn't make sense and we're hypocrite if we say "we don't want to". I guess time will tell as we go along with the flow.
Are you guys open for a change? I mean, changing sort of musicality and identity?
Maturity speaking, bands are always open for a change. It's a part of progress of every band. We want to try something new which we can explore more than the usual thing that we're doing right now as we go along with our music.
Do you think recording companies in the Philippines are still existing nowadays?
As an indie artist, it depends on a situation. For now, we're not on the other side of it. Internet is an onslaught widespread of information you know, there's a lot of recording studios which they can provide good quality recording. Every artist affected with piracy whether you're signed, unsigned, or indie.
What part of your experience as a band are the most unforgettable moments.
Too many to mention, but the most and unforgettable moments that the band has is where the band coping up with the frustrations and failures. We're still standing despite of all. We're very proud of each other because we stand as one.
Bio
SOIREÉ, a Pasig City-based quintet band formed in September 11, 2005. Commemorating with different guitar riffs, pulverizing screams, grindcore-like drum beating, and hell-raising bass scaling, heartfelt kind of lyrics like no other, diabolically kind of stuff.
