Bio
Romancesa was formed on late 2007 at Bandar Sri Damansara, Kuala Lumpur. It was Hizani idea to make a new band after years of hiatus in the local independent music scene. Hizani then invited his previous schoolmate a.k.a buddy, Acap to join the band. They started making music and lyrics influenced by Pearl Jam, Weezer, Bon Jovi, Smashing Pumpkins, Creed etc. Bang Chik and Wan (both of them are blood bros of Hizani) joined as a session on bass and drums. At first, both of them planned to go for duo type of band just like Tenacious D but changed their decision due some reasons and made Bang Chik and Wan as a permanent line ups. Romancesa also recruited Aisha and Aida for the backing vocal position but their times with Romancesa was short due of personal planning.
Romancesa released their first EP entitled "Romantika Romancesa EP" on early 2008 that recorded at Sonic Station Studio, Bandar Sri Damansara. The EP included three songs that are "Kembali","Berbulu" dan "Bintang Kini Pelangi". The first born EP started the landmark for Romancesa in the indie music scene and sold about 2000 copies approximately, using minimal distribution (online,mail order and at gigs). After for awhile, they decided to hunt a girl keyboardist to complete their band, so Shaa was chosen and made what Romancesa is now.
Late 2008, the band released their latest material, a single entitled "Oh Lunaku" that was recorded at OrAnG Studio and engineered by Eric of OAG. The song boosted up Romancesa presence in the scene. "Oh Lunaku" also got air-played fairly on X FM (X Fresh FM) and this gave more exposure for Romancesa. The band started to get loads of gig/show, reviewed in local magazines, a TV slot for their live performance, bigger fanbase and everything looks brighter for them.
Latest. The band recorded their three new songs that are "Ku Ingin", "Hujan Malam Ini" and "Woody" at Studio 21:05 engineered and mixed by JD of Pop Shuvit. All of the three songs will be included in their upcoming EP, but public can listen to one of the songs, "Ku Ingin" on X FM and the other two, on the web. And the tales go on...
