A translation of diverse creativity that came from nowhere. It just happen, it's pure, aggressive, raw and honest. The name carries the word 'metal', but I explore crazy things too with electronic, drum&bass, techno, even jazz. The songs speak for themselves. The sky is the limit, What you hear is what you get!!
Any personal favorite that still 'haunts' your playing till now?
Certainly. I listen to stuff like Kitaro, up to crazy tunes of In Flames and Dimmu Borgir. I started playing drums when I was 12 with the influence Tico Torres (Bon Jovi) and Stewart Copeland (The Police), and started to hit my pillows with my brand new drumsticks. Then later on, I dared myself to 'get crazy' with keyboards...
What's your gear?
Pearl drums & Roland XP-50 synthetizer. Yamaha and Technics keyboards are cool too...
You mention keyboard earlier, what's so special about it?
I don't know, maybe keyboard is way too magical for me. It's a sophisticated tool that allows me to 'think out of the box' and be creative, doodling with different sounds. It's also a perfect tool for me to enhance my drumming and create crazy sounds I couldn't play on the real drums, because most of modern keyboards thesedays got some cool drum sounds in it. That's where I found my 'metal sound', that actually I CAN play like my fave death metal band, Dimmu Borgir, but it's actually comes from a synthesizer, haha! Keyboard rules, but drums is always be my domain (grins).
So what will you see from this Metalfactor project, anything concrete on the way?
No, not yet, I haven't even thought about it at all. This is something that I love doing, stealing some time to create music of my own. I'm actually busy as hell with my job as marketing communication, but again it's just how I can balance this life. It'd be great if I can have some kind of showcase, but not now.
Interesting! So by now you wouldn't mind sharing us your musical taste, I suppose?

Hey, you played with ten2five recently, right? How was it?
Wow, it was something man. I happen to be a good friend of Robin & Arief. They both are my college friends back in 95, when we studied in Perth, Australia. Their drummer was taking some time off, so they called me to be their additional. Great experience, I performed with them in Medan, and couple other performances in Senayan City. Yeap, there were hell of butterflies in my belly man, haha!
How do you maintain your time, you've got your daily job, yet you've managed to accept stage jobs...?
Lately I'm pretty much occupied with my daily job, but to me it's always great to accept offers as session drummer, y'know, just to keep the groove goin'. But yeah, as long as the time permits, why not? (grins)
What are you reading now?
'The Sopranos' book, 'The Appeal' & 'The Broker' by John Grisham, The Art of The Deal by Donald Trump. Great and insightful reading. There are several great books lining up, including reading books about my favorite bands, Metallica & Motley Crue. Also read the monthly Metal Hammer magazine from UK. Can't complain!!
Anything else you wanna add up?
Can't wait to see Behemoth and Lamb Of God live in Jakarta, yeah!!! :p
