To start with DeathToPuberty can be viewed as the prodigal son of the punk rock band PayItForward. It is the product of Chuck Baclagon's endowment to write bad romantic poetry that are translated into seductive songs of love, hate, longing, anarchy, mortality, revolution and belonging.
What's with the name?
We once read that it takes seven years for a person to regenerate the entire makeup of cells in his body, thus making him a new person every seven years, and to look at it in light of our lives it basically means the 'selves' that we have seven years ago are but dead and it takes a picture or an entry in a diary, or a footnote in a book or an article in the newspaper, to connect us to that 'self' that we have seven years ago. So every time that we'd look at a picture of ourselves when we were a baby we'd just be basically looking at a different person that no longer exists at this specific point in time and the only thing that would connect that baby to us or more specifically show proof that that baby in the picture is in fact us are memories of that certain point in time when we were still that baby.
Now you may be asking what does this have to do with our name? Simple we're all past our teens and in fact its safe to say that its more than seven years ago when we've experienced the thrill of puberty and thus we've all given death to our puberty.
Where do you get your ideas for writing songs?
Here’s one answer. The anti-social ranting of Holden Caufield the infamous protagonist of J.D. Sallinger’s The Catcher In The Rye.
Our many meanderings and remote visions.
The splintering of our minds and a battered acoustic guitar and the sound of feelings and melodies that are falling from the sky that is then blasted to your ear by a resounding distorted electric guitar.
The imprisoned perceptions and a low key engagement with a world of perplexities and uncertainties in which one can hope at best to achieve the small satisfactions a kind of innocence that surrounds the enigma and what was the question?
where are you now?
Wherever we are right now, we are in our own special way telling right from wrong, and are indulging in slight extravaganzas.

DeathToPuberty... ...is about the feeling of what its like when you're hearing the sound of tears as it rolls down your cheeks, pouring with it all the pains of that reality has brought upon you.
DeathToPuberty... ...is the twisted combination of moans and drastic guitar playing. it is an influence of emotion and the sound of billy brag, elvis costello, dashboard confessional, bright eyes and the likes.
DeathToPuberty... ...is dull and yet personal. it does not compromise to please one's ear nor does it aspire to be recognized as something that is great. it is a therapeutic venture. it is giving death to your immature and selfish desire hoping that this 'death' would contribute to the greater good.
DeathToPuberty... ...is what started out as chuck baclagon's personal escape from the shadow of PayItForward in a way has seemingly evolved into a collective collaboration between chuck, ten derillo and reggie unigo so as to form a more cohesive sound to the resonating noise of DeathToPuberty.
