Frequency Cannon (FCannon) consists of four not so young musicians from Kuala Lumpur. The guys who form Frequency Cannon are like their name implies, loose cannons on stage. Their shows can only be described as electrifying and high octane. The bands motto is to have fun and to see everyone else doing the same. You can’t expect anything less from a band, which represents high sonic energy. The band can be quite pugnacious within itself but that does not get in the way of their love and dedication for music.
The band recorded their first demo in vocalist, Kua Chee’s bedroom in the year 2000 and started hitting the studios around February and March 2004 to record DIY EP.
Crowned Grand Champions for ASTRO HITZ.TV’s BLASTOFF Competition in 2005, Frequency Cannon earned a spot to be a part of Malaysia’s Rock the World 6 in 2005.
In Dec 2007, Frequency Cannon changed from a 5 piece band to a 4 piece outfit. Siva Shanker the rhythm guitarist for FCannon left the band to pursue his career.
In 2008, Frequency Cannon released their 1st self titled album. Only 1,000 copies were printed and hardcore fans could only get it by purchasing it via their website or at FCannon gigs.
In Dec 2008, Yuri Wong, the lead guitarist for FC left the band to pursue a solo career/producer.
Frequency Cannon bagged 2 awards in January 2009 Voize Independent Music Award (VIMA 2008) for the category "Best Genre Bender" for their track "Rise Above’ and 3rd place for "Best Rock Song".
Frequency Cannon is currently Kua Chee (vocals), Azril Dino (drums), Azrul (bass) and Keng (Guitars). This is as good as Frequency Cannon gets. Frequency Cannon plays music that comes from the heart; music that makes you want to jump and shout and have fun with your friends. Frequency Cannon released their self titled debut album on January 2008. The debut album includes their hit singles "GIRL", "Fame & Glory", "50 Tahun" & "Rise Above".
