I have registered with AMP though I can't login to create my profile. What's up with that?
Once you have filled in the registration form (and submitted it) we will send you a verification email - just to make sure you really are who you say you are. You need to click on the link in that email to activate your account and create your profile.
Remember to check your junk or spam folders as your email account might have automatically directed our mail there. If you are sure that you have not received said email, then please contact us.
I have forgotten my password, how can I get it back?
Easy peasy - just follow the 'Forgot password' link on the login page. Alternatively, you can just click here.

What format do I need to upload my songs in?
The only format we expressly refuse are WAV files. They're just too darn big. We recommend however that you upload music in MP3 format simply to keep to a useable standard. Maximum file size per track is 8mb, and we currently allow each artist to upload up to 8 tracks on a profile page.
How do I convert my song into an MP3?
Although we do accept other file types, MP3's are best. There are loads of programmes out there that can convert your song files into MP3s. We recommend using itunes - it's quick, easy and mac & pc compatible. Can't say fairer than that.
Are there any recommended settings I should adhere to when uploading tracks?
Why yes there are, thanks for asking. We suggest that uploaded songs have a bit rate of 128kbps with a frequency of 44 kHz Stereo.
Why do I upload music in one format only to have it played back as an FLV file?
This is simply for your protection. We have put this system in place, whereby we convert your file for playback, making it harder for naughty people to steal your music.
How can I become a featured artist on the site?
Channel [V] are constantly browsing the music on AMP to find quality music to feature. The featured artists on the site are chosen on a whole host of merits. These include (but are not limited to): current artist activity i.e. are you pushing an album/tour currently? How well you are being received by the AMP community i.e. how many plays you get, how often your page is viewed etc; and generally, choosing when the best moment is for AMP to help promote you.
Remember that we are always searching the site for artists to feature - so just because you haven't been chosen as soon as you have signed up, there is still an equal chance you will be at a later date.
I want to sell my music on AMP, how do I do this?
We will be adding this functionality very soon. We will be giving you the opportunity to sell your music for people to download, as well as ring tones and wallpapers to mobile phones. All will be revealed soon, so watch this space!
How are the charts formulated?
Good question. All of our charts are affected by you, the listener. Our AMP chart is a 'most played' chart, which shows the artists who have had the most total number of plays in a given week. Country charts are calculated the same way only include artists from a particular country only.
I get an error page when trying to edit my Bio / News, why?
Certain Mac users may experience problems with our edit functions as a result of the browser being used. If these persist, please contact us or try using Firefox in the meantime. We like Firefox.
I want to upload my vidieo. I know you convert my file for use on the AMP player, though which formats are supported?

I'm not an artist so why do I have a music player?
We've given members an AMP music player so that you can create a playlist of your favourite music you have found on the site. So check out the AMP artists and add any songs you like to your own page.

I've seen something untoward on the site - How do I report misuse or abuse on AMP?
We strongly urge everyone to report any signs of misuse or abuse of this site immediately. It is your right, neigh, responsibility to do so. Let's stamp out the idiots of this world, and keep it clean people. Please report any suspected cases of misuse directly to us here and we'll take it from there.
